As part of our philosophy to share experiences, a team of stalwarts joined together to sample the delights of "Roley's on the Ridge" pensioner's lunch menu. This was a resounding success, the meal consisting of fish and chips (or a vegetarian dish for those not meat eaters), a slice of (I suspect very fattening) chocolate cake and a choice of tea or coffee. At $20/head, a very satisfying lunch. Well done, Brad!

1st Winter Market

Despite the threat of rain, the day proved to be glorious, the sunshine bringing the crowds to the first Winter Market of 2016. I'm pleased to report that the Shed had a great day, selling bbq's and various wooden items, all produced by Shed members. Thanks to Chris, and to Tony Simpson for manning the morning session and David, Ian and Eugen for the afternoon. Congratulations to the ladies of the Market Committee and helpers for a great day.

Our guest speaker for May was Vanessa Miler of COTA Australia, who gave us a very informative talk on "Downsizing". This is one of the subjects we will all face at some time when our present home becomes too large or difficult to maintain. The principe of this talk was to cover all the various aspects so that members could select an area they needed more information about. Retirement Villages and "granny flats" roused the greatest interest, so we hope to hold another session to cover these in more detail.
