Shed Auction

This Saturday, 19 April, the Shed held it's first Auction to dispose of unwanted items donated or acquired over the past three years. A total of 75 items went under the hammer of our auctioneer, Mr Rob Fidock of Fidock & Co, Real Estate. As well as being a member of the Shed, Rob is a staunch supporter in deed as well a kind. We managed to raise nearly $900 from the sales and wish to thank all those who helped set up the auction besides Rob, particually George and Ronnie who manned the cash side of things and & Ron and Wendy who took care of crowd control and acting as our clerks! A big thank you to all those who attended to spend their hard earned money, particularly the young couple who spent up big!

Lotterywest Grant Approved

Yes - We made it! The Lotterywest grant we sought for our new Shed has been approved, together with a grant to the Roleystone Community Garden. This means that we are both one step nearer to building our Community Shed and Community Garden. Once we have gone through all the planning and building approvals and associated requirements, we will be in a position to start. Without the great support of Lotterywest, this would not be possible. Our thanks to this great organisation.

Dr Ojo talks on Men's Water Works

At this month's Sundowner, our guest speaker was Dr Ojo of the Roleystone Family Medical Centre. He gave a riveting talk on all the various things that can go wrong with, or affect male sexual organs. Judging by the silence for the entire talk, I know it was very well received. Outside a place like the Men's Shed environment, men are reluctant to discuss such matters, even at home, so the information was very well received. Our thanks Dr Ojo for his time and work to promote mens' health.
